Joe Varley-Martin

With over 15 years of experience in the third and public sectors, Joe has a track record of building great services that put users at the forefront. A tenacious problem-solver, Joe loves bringing people together to find solutions.

His CV includes senior leadership roles at The Prince’s Trust, Citizens Advice, and Genomics England. At The Prince’s Trust, his leadership resulted in a more effective national volunteer strategy and framework and a successful e-mentoring programme that helped numerous young people start their own businesses.

Joe then moved to Citizens Advice to lead the Continuous Improvement function, tracking and improving the reach and impact of the Help to Claim programme, a multi-channel service supporting people in making their first Universal Credit claim.

 

At Genomics England, Joe focused on developing and improving holistic corporate services to support employees. He worked closely with functional directors to embed a service mindset and deliver numerous service transformations and efficiencies.

Joe is also a vice chair trustee of a local infrastructure organisation that champions and supports the VCSE sector within Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire to thrive. He is passionate about community development and is dedicated to making a positive impact in his local area.
